Food Recovery Hub warehouse shift with We Don't Waste
Volunteer in We Don't Waste's Denver warehouse sorting rescued food for distribution. Thursday, 9am–noon MDT. Groups welcome, closed-toe shoes required, no experience needed.
Why we picked this
Final Thursday Hub shift of September — warehouse work that closes the gap between surplus food and people who need it. The rhythm of Thursday sorting makes Friday and Tuesday markets possible.
We Don’t Waste’s Food Recovery Hub at 6090 E 39th Ave is the warehouse backbone behind the mobile markets. Thursday volunteers sort and package rescued food — produce, packaged goods, proteins — so it’s ready to move to distribution sites and partner nonprofits. The September 24th shift runs approximately 9am to noon.
The logistics are tight by design: food sorted on Thursday is often distributed within days. All ages welcome, groups can sign up together, and no special experience is required. Register through the Volunteer Matters portal.
Closed-toe shoes are required for the warehouse environment. Wear clothes you can work actively in.
