Food Recovery Hub warehouse shift with We Don't Waste
Sort rescued food and help prep inventory at We Don't Waste's Denver warehouse. Thursday morning, 9am–noon MDT. All ages, groups welcome, no experience needed.
Why we picked this
Mid-September Thursday shift at the Hub — warehouse sorting that feeds directly into the weekend's mobile markets. Tangible, physical work with a short feedback loop.
The Food Recovery Hub is We Don’t Waste’s processing warehouse in northeast Denver, where surplus and donated food is sorted before heading to mobile markets and partner organizations. Thursday volunteers work from approximately 9am to noon, handling produce, packaged goods, and other rescued inventory.
The turnaround is fast — food sorted on Thursday regularly reaches families by Friday or the following Tuesday through the mobile market schedule. All ages welcome, groups can register together, and no experience is needed. Sign up through Volunteer Matters.
Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes suited for active warehouse work. The Hub address is 6090 E 39th Ave, Denver.
