Why we picked this
Thursday morning at the Recovery Hub: sort donated food, assemble grocery bags, and watch the pile shrink. Indoor warehouse work — closed-toe shoes required, groups welcome with advance notice.
The We Don’t Waste Food Recovery Hub at 6090 E 39th Ave is where donated and rescued food gets sorted, organized, and made available for nonprofit partner organizations to distribute. Thursday morning shifts run from roughly 9am to noon. Volunteers sort donations, assemble grocery bags, and help partner organizations navigate the warehouse inventory.
It’s indoor work in a warehouse environment — closed-toe shoes are required. Groups can volunteer together with advance coordination; use the group request process through Volunteer Matters rather than signing up individually.
Register through the Volunteer Matters link above (a free account is required). The Hub is on the northeast side of Denver near Stapleton.
