Why we picked this

The second workday at Signature Bluffs — more social-trail closures and primitive trail work along the Poudre River, with 16 spots open for a project that welcomes first-timers.

This is the follow-up session to VOC’s August 12 project at Signature Bluffs Natural Area. Volunteers continue closing and revegetating informal social trails around the lake and widening the site’s designated primitive trail to improve fishing access along the Cache la Poudre River. Work involves kneeling, bending, carrying materials, and digging near water, where footing can get muddy.

Rated easy to moderate difficulty, this project is a good starting point if you haven’t volunteered with VOC before. The exact meeting location is emailed to registered volunteers about a week ahead of time. Bring your own lunch; no pets allowed on site.

Ages 12 and up; volunteers under 16 must have an adult 21 or older with them. Register by August 17 — 16 spots are open, and groups can reserve multiple spots together by emailing Abby@voc.org.
