Why we picked this

Close overgrown social trails and widen the primitive fishing path along the Poudre River at Signature Bluffs — muddy, hands-on habitat work with an easy-to-moderate difficulty rating that's a good fit for newer volunteers.

Volunteers help restore Signature Bluffs Natural Area by closing and revegetating informal social trails that have formed around the lake, reducing disturbance to habitat along the Cache la Poudre River. The crew also works on widening and defining the site’s designated primitive trail to improve fishing access. Expect kneeling, bending, and working close to the ground for extended periods, plus carrying materials and digging near water where footing can get muddy.

This is rated easy to moderate difficulty — a solid fit if you’re new to VOC projects. The exact meeting spot is shared by email about a week before the project date. Bring your own lunch; no pets allowed.

Ages 12 and up; volunteers under 16 need an adult 21 or older with them. Only 11 spots are open and registration closes August 10, so sign up soon if you want in. Groups can reserve multiple spots by emailing Abby@voc.org.
