This full-day workshop teaches the essential rock work techniques used in trail building and ecological restoration: armoring trail surfaces, constructing mono-walls, and building erosion-control structures that keep trails durable and safe. Instruction comes from VOC trainers with decades of hands-on trail-building experience.
The workshop includes a mandatory 4-hour online pre-training component that participants complete before the in-person session at Golden Gate Canyon State Park. Cost is $70 per person. Scholarship funding is available through the Steve Austin Training Scholarship program — contact VOC to apply.
Age 16 and up. Both chainsaw-certified and non-certified volunteers are welcome. Register at the VOC website; the registration deadline is June 17.
