Family stewardship morning at Denver Green School community farm
Weed beds, set up trellises, and transplant seedlings at Sprout City Farms at Denver Green School. A family-friendly Saturday morning supporting a Title I school farm.
Why we picked this
A short Saturday morning at a thriving Title I school farm that produces 10,000+ pounds of food a year. Real work — trellises, transplants, weeding — with kids welcome from age 8. Public transit and bike accessible.
Sprout City Farms at Denver Green School runs a working urban farm that produces 10,000–12,000 pounds of food annually, feeding the school cafeteria and supporting community food access. On Saturday morning June 6 (8–11 AM), volunteers help prepare the farm for the growing season: weeding garden beds, setting up trellises and T-posts for vining crops, and transplanting seedlings.
Children ages 8 and up are welcome; youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult 21 or older. Seven volunteer spots remain as of late May 2026. Register by June 4. The site is accessible by public transit and bike. No experience needed — just bring enthusiasm and dress for outdoor work.
