Why we picked this

The Christ the King garden goes from planting to harvest this fall โ€” pick and clear vegetables that head straight to Denver food banks, no gardening background required.

Volunteers spend the morning harvesting the vegetable garden at Christ the King Church in southwest Denver and prepping the beds for winter, guided by Grow Local Colorado staff. Tasks include gathering ripe produce, weeding, and clearing plant debris โ€” easy going and well suited to first-timers. Harvested vegetables are delivered to local food banks and community organizations.

Ages 8 and up are welcome, with youth under 16 accompanied by an adult 21 or older. Register through the VOC portal; registration deadline is October 5. No pets on site.

The location is at 2300 S Patton Ct in Denverโ€™s Harvey Park neighborhood. This event is organized through Volunteers for Outdoor Coloradoโ€™s Grow Local Colorado partnership.
