Become a one-on-one mentor with Save Our Youth
Weekly outings with a youth ages 10-17 in Denver metro — hiking, meals, activities. All training provided, dedicated support specialist assigned.
Why we picked this
You get a dedicated Mentoring Specialist for support, all training is provided, and the time commitment starts at weekly then flexes as the relationship builds.
Save Our Youth has been matching adult mentors with youth ages 10-17 in the Denver metro area through one-to-one community-based mentoring. You’ll meet weekly at first — grabbing a meal, going for a hike, trying something new together — and transition to quality meetups as the relationship develops. The minimum commitment is one year.
What makes this program different is the support structure. Every mentor gets a dedicated Mentoring Specialist who provides ongoing guidance, check-ins, and help navigating any challenges. All training is provided — no prior mentoring experience needed.
You’ll need to be at least 21, have lived in the Denver metro for at least a year, and have reliable transportation since you’ll pick up your mentee. The screening process includes an application, interview, and background check. Submit an interest form at saveouryouth.org/mentor and a team member will contact you to schedule an initial call. Their office is at 3443 W. 23rd Avenue, Denver CO 80211 — phone 303.455.1126.
