Why we picked this
Late August cleanup catches the end of summer growth season — the open space work here has a satisfying before-and-after that's visible from the trail.
Friends of Red Rocks gathers the last Saturday of every month for trail maintenance and invasive plant removal at Red Rocks Park open space. August 29 is the late-summer edition — two to three hours of ecological work at one of the Front Range’s most visited open spaces.
Late August is a good time for this work: invasives are still actively growing but the season is winding down, and your work sets up the landscape heading into fall. Meet at the Upper North Lot at 9:30 AM. All gear provided. Register through Volgistics.
New volunteers sign two short waivers at check-in. All ages welcome with adult supervision for younger volunteers.
