Why we picked this
Saturday morning crew covers weekend distribution prep. Shifts fill quickly β register ahead through VolunteerHub.
Saturday morning volunteers at Food Bank of the Rockies sort through donated food, inspect items, and pack them for distribution to partner agencies across Colorado. Saturday shifts run from 8:45 AM to noon. The work involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds β wear clothes you donβt mind getting dusty and bring closed-toe shoes.
Volunteers ages 10 and up are welcome; anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Groups of up to 30 can sign up together. Walk-ins are not accepted, so register in advance through VolunteerHub. The facility is in Aurora at 20600 E 38th Ave; free parking on site.
Saturday shifts are slightly smaller than weekday shifts and tend to fill faster. If youβre new to the Food Bank of the Rockies, the Saturday morning crew is a good starting point β the pace is steady and there are always experienced volunteers alongside newer ones.
