Why we picked this

Three hours of sorting and packing in a busy warehouse where the throughput is visible — you'll help move thousands of pounds of food toward people who need it.

Morning warehouse shifts at Food Bank of the Rockies run 8:45am to noon at their Aurora facility. Volunteers sort donated food, check expiration dates, pack boxes, and prepare pallets for distribution. Up to 30 volunteers work each morning shift, and the pace is steady without being rushed.

No prior experience is needed and ages 10 and up are welcome — volunteers under 16 need to come with an adult. Groups of up to 30 can be accommodated. Sign up through the VolunteerHub portal before your shift, as walk-ins aren’t accepted.

The facility is at 20600 E 38th Ave in Aurora, just off I-70. Parking is on site. Bring closed-toe shoes and expect a light workout — some lifting is involved.
