Why we picked this
Saturday morning food sort at one of the region's busiest distribution hubs β three hours of sorting and packing that feeds Colorado families by the truckload.
Saturday morning shifts at Food Bank of the Rockies follow the same format as weekday shifts: three hours of sorting, repacking, and moving donated food at the Aurora distribution center, 20600 E 38th Ave. The work is physical, well-organized, and satisfying β staff track total pounds packed at the end of each shift.
Groups of up to 30 are welcome with advance registration through VolunteerHub. Closed-toe shoes required. Ages 10 and up; under-16 need an adult. No walk-ins.
Saturday shifts draw volunteers who canβt make a weekday, and the operation runs at full weekend capacity β same throughput, same impact as any weekday shift.
