Morning warehouse shift at Food Bank of the Rockies
Work a food sorting and repacking line at the Aurora warehouse. Physical work from 8:45 AM to noon. Groups up to 30 welcome. Ages 10+, advance signup needed.
Why we picked this
Thursday morning near month's end β every shift adds to the total volume distributed. What you sort today is on a truck toward a Colorado food pantry within days.
Volunteers at this Thursday morning shift work on the sorting floor at Food Bank of the Rockies in Aurora, inspecting donated food, checking dates, consolidating product, and repacking bulk goods into family-appropriate quantities for distribution. The food bankβs distribution network reaches partner agencies and food pantries across Colorado and neighboring Rocky Mountain states.
Plan on staying active throughout the shift: standing, lifting boxes, pushing loaded carts, and working alongside other volunteers on the line. Closed-toe shoes are required in the warehouse. Layering is a good idea for the early start. Shift runs 8:45 AM to noon.
Up to 30 volunteers per shift, and group registration is supported. All volunteers must register in advance through VolunteerHub β no walk-ins. Minimum age 10; volunteers under 16 must have a supervising adult present for the full shift.
