Morning warehouse shift at Food Bank of the Rockies
Work the food sorting line at Food Bank of the Rockies in Aurora. Physical warehouse work that wraps up by noon. Groups of up to 30. Ages 10+.
Why we picked this
Three hours of clear, physical output on a Tuesday morning — you sort food donations, see the processed pallets pile up, and leave at noon with your afternoon still available.
Volunteers at this Tuesday morning shift join the sorting line at Food Bank of the Rockies in Aurora, working through donated food to check for quality, pull expired items, categorize product, and repack bulk goods into family-sized portions for distribution. This food goes out to partner agencies that serve families throughout Colorado.
The work is hands-on and physical from start to finish: standing, lifting, carting product, and moving at the pace of the line. Closed-toe shoes are required in the warehouse. Dressing in layers is recommended — early morning temps on the warehouse floor can be cooler than outside. The shift runs 8:45 AM to noon.
Groups of up to 30 can register together through VolunteerHub. All volunteers must register in advance — no walk-ins. Volunteers must be 10 or older; those under 16 must have a supervising adult for the duration of the shift.
