Morning warehouse shift at Food Bank of the Rockies
Sort, inspect, and repack donated food at the Aurora warehouse before noon. On-your-feet physical work. Groups of up to 30 welcome. Ages 10+.
Why we picked this
Cap off the workweek with a Friday morning warehouse shift β three focused hours sorting real food, with a measurable tonnage output and your afternoon still free.
Volunteers at this Friday morning shift work on the food sorting line at Food Bank of the Rockiesβ Aurora warehouse, inspecting donations, discarding unusable product, and repacking bulk goods into family-sized quantities ready for distribution. The work directly supplies partner agencies and food pantries across Colorado.
The shift is active and physical throughout: lifting, standing, maneuvering carts loaded with product, and working alongside other volunteers on the line. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory in the warehouse. Dress in layers β early morning warehouse temperatures can be lower than expected. The shift runs 8:45 AM to noon.
Groups of up to 30 may register together. Advance registration through VolunteerHub is required β no walk-ins. Volunteers must be at least 10; anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a supervising adult for the duration of the shift.
