Morning warehouse shift at Food Bank of the Rockies
Help sort donated food and repack bulk goods at the Aurora warehouse. Physical work on the floor from 8:45 AM to noon. Groups welcome. Ages 10+.
Why we picked this
Thursday morning β three hours of hands-on warehouse work, then you're done. The sorting line runs efficiently with a full crew; the more volunteers who show up registered, the more pounds processed.
At this morning warehouse shift, volunteers sort through food donations on the warehouse floor, checking product quality and expiration dates, consolidating inventory, and repacking bulk goods into portions suitable for distribution to families. Food Bank of the Rockies distributes food throughout Colorado and into neighboring Rocky Mountain states, so whatβs processed here travels far.
Plan on physical work for the full shift: standing, lifting, carting, and keeping pace with the sorting line. Closed-toe shoes are required in the warehouse β no sandals or slip-ons. Layering is helpful for the early morning start. Shift hours are 8:45 AM to noon.
Groups up to 30 volunteers can register together. All registration must be completed in advance via VolunteerHub β no walk-ins. Minimum age is 10; volunteers under 16 must have a supervising adult with them throughout the shift.
