Why we picked this
A Thursday morning shift that wraps before noon β sorting real food that moves out to partner agencies the same week. The output is measurable: thousands of pounds processed per shift.
Volunteers working this morning shift sort through food donations on the warehouse floor at Food Bank of the Rockiesβ Aurora facility. Tasks include checking expiration dates, pulling unusable product, consolidating like items, and repacking bulk goods into family-appropriate quantities for distribution to partner agencies throughout Colorado.
The work is physical. Youβll be on your feet the whole shift, lifting boxes, working a sorting line, and moving product with carts. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory; no sandals or open-toed footwear allowed in the warehouse. The shift runs 8:45 AM to noon.
Groups of up to 30 can register together. Advance sign-up through VolunteerHub is required β no walk-ins. Volunteers must be at least 10 years old; under-16 volunteers need a supervising adult for the duration of the shift.
