Morning warehouse shift at Food Bank of the Rockies
Sort donations, check dates, and repack bulk food at the Aurora warehouse. Physical, hands-on work that wraps up before noon. Ages 10+.
Why we picked this
The morning shift ends at noon, leaving your afternoon free. In those three hours you'll help sort and pack food that ships out to agencies feeding families across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region.
At this morning warehouse shift, volunteers sort incoming food donations, inspect items for quality and date, and repack bulk product into portions that partner agencies can distribute directly to families. The work happens on the warehouse floor — expect to stand, lift, push carts, and move product through a fast-moving assembly process.
Closed-toe shoes are required in the warehouse. Dress comfortably and consider layering, as warehouse temperatures in the early morning can be cooler than outside. Shifts begin at 8:45 AM and run through noon, making it an easy fit before other commitments.
Up to 30 volunteers can register for this shift, and groups are encouraged to sign up together. All registration must be completed in advance through VolunteerHub — walk-ins are not accepted. Minimum age is 10; volunteers under 16 must have a supervising adult present.
