Why we picked this

You'll move thousands of pounds of food before noon — sorting donations, pulling expired product, and repacking bulk goods that go straight to partner agencies across Colorado. Concrete output you can feel.

Volunteers at this morning shift work directly in the Food Bank of the Rockies distribution warehouse in Aurora, sorting through donated food items, checking date labels, consolidating product, and repacking bulk goods into family-sized quantities. The work is physical — you’ll be on your feet for the full shift, lifting boxes, pushing carts, and moving product through the line.

Wear closed-toe shoes; open-toed footwear is not permitted in the warehouse. Comfortable, work-appropriate clothing is recommended. The warehouse is large and climate varies, so layering is a good idea for early morning arrivals. Shifts run 8:45 AM to noon, so you’ll be finished well before the afternoon.

Groups of up to 30 are welcome and can register together. Advance registration is required through VolunteerHub — no walk-ins are accepted. Volunteers must be at least 10 years old; anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
