Afternoon warehouse shift at Food Bank of the Rockies
Work the food sorting line at Food Bank of the Rockies in Aurora from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Physical on-your-feet work. Groups up to 20. Ages 10+.
Why we picked this
Thursday near the end of July β the warehouse keeps its full distribution schedule through the summer, and the afternoon shift moves just as much product as the morning. Show up registered.
At this Thursday afternoon shift, volunteers sort food donations at Food Bank of the Rockiesβ Aurora warehouse β checking product condition and dates, pulling expired or damaged items, and repacking bulk goods into family-sized quantities for distribution to partner agencies across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region.
The work is physical and consistent throughout: standing, lifting boxes, loading and pushing carts, and maintaining the pace of the sorting line. Closed-toe shoes are required in the warehouse; no sandals or open-toed footwear. Shift runs 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Afternoon shifts accommodate up to 20 volunteers. Group registration is supported through VolunteerHub. All volunteers must register in advance β walk-ins are not accepted. Minimum age 10; volunteers under 16 must have a supervising adult for the full shift.
