Afternoon warehouse shift at Food Bank of the Rockies
Work the food sorting and repacking line at the Aurora warehouse, 1:00–4:00 PM. Physical distribution-scale work. Groups up to 20. Advance signup required.
Why we picked this
Tuesday afternoon in the final week of July — same volume, same warehouse throughput. The afternoon shift is a practical option for people who can't make a before-noon commitment.
At this Tuesday afternoon shift, volunteers join the warehouse floor at Food Bank of the Rockies in Aurora, sorting through food donations — checking product condition and dates, pulling anything that can’t be distributed, and repacking bulk goods into family-appropriate portions for partner agencies throughout Colorado.
The work is physically active from start to finish: standing, lifting, loading carts, and maintaining the sorting line’s pace for three hours. Closed-toe shoes are required; no sandals or open-toed footwear in the warehouse. Shift: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Afternoon shifts hold up to 20 volunteers. Group registration is available through VolunteerHub. Advance registration is required — no walk-ins. Minimum age 10; volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a supervising adult throughout the shift.
