Afternoon warehouse shift at Food Bank of the Rockies
Sort donated food and repack bulk goods at the Aurora warehouse from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Physical work on your feet at regional scale. Ages 10+.
Why we picked this
Monday afternoon at the start of the final week of July — the warehouse sorting line keeps running, and the afternoon crew processes food that hits partner agency shelves before the week ends.
Volunteers working this Monday afternoon shift sort food donations on the warehouse floor at Food Bank of the Rockies in Aurora — inspecting product quality and dates, pulling damaged or expired items, consolidating inventory, and repacking bulk goods into family-sized portions for distribution throughout Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region.
Expect physical work throughout: standing, lifting, carting product, and maintaining the pace of the sorting line for three hours. Closed-toe shoes are required in the warehouse; no sandals or open-toed footwear. Shift runs 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Up to 20 volunteers per afternoon shift. Group registration is supported through VolunteerHub. Walk-ins are not accepted — advance registration is required. Minimum age 10; volunteers under 16 must have a supervising adult present for the full shift.
