Afternoon warehouse shift at Food Bank of the Rockies
Work the food sorting and repacking line at the Aurora warehouse, 1:00–4:00 PM. Physical warehouse work at distribution scale. Advance signup required.
Why we picked this
Wednesday afternoon mid-week keeps the warehouse pipeline moving — the afternoon crew processes product that gets distributed to Colorado agencies by week's end. Real volume, physical output.
Volunteers at this Wednesday afternoon shift sort food donations on the warehouse floor at Food Bank of the Rockies in Aurora — checking expiration dates, inspecting product condition, consolidating inventory, and repacking bulk goods into family-sized portions ready for distribution to partner agencies across Colorado.
The shift is physical throughout: standing, lifting, carting product, and maintaining the pace of the sorting line. Closed-toe shoes are required; warehouse policy doesn’t permit sandals or open-toed footwear. The shift runs 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Afternoon shifts support up to 20 volunteers. Group registration is available through VolunteerHub. All sign-ups must be made in advance — no walk-ins accepted. Minimum age is 10; anyone under 16 must have a supervising adult present throughout the shift.
