Afternoon warehouse shift at Food Bank of the Rockies
Sort and repack donated food at the Aurora warehouse from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Physical on-your-feet work at regional scale. Groups up to 20. Ages 10+.
Why we picked this
Tuesday afternoon β the warehouse sorting line doesn't stop mid-week. An afternoon crew processes thousands of pounds of food that feeds directly into the state's distribution pipeline.
This Tuesday afternoon shift at Food Bank of the Rockies in Aurora puts volunteers on the sorting floor to work through donated food donations β inspecting product quality and dates, pulling items that canβt be distributed, and repacking bulk goods into family-appropriate portions. The distribution network this supports reaches partner agencies and food pantries throughout Colorado.
Plan on physical work throughout: standing, lifting, pushing loaded carts, and working the sorting line. Closed-toe shoes are required in the warehouse; no sandals or open-toed footwear permitted. Shift: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Up to 20 volunteers can join afternoon shifts, and group registration is supported through VolunteerHub. Walk-ins are not accepted β all volunteers must register in advance. Minimum age 10; anyone under 16 must have a supervising adult present for the full shift.
