Afternoon warehouse shift at Food Bank of the Rockies
Sort donated food and repack bulk goods at the Aurora warehouse from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. On-your-feet physical work at regional distribution scale. Ages 10+.
Why we picked this
Friday afternoon wraps the distribution week β the sorting line is still running, the volume is still real, and an afternoon crew of up to 20 makes a measurable difference in what ships Monday.
Volunteers at this Friday afternoon shift sort food donations on the warehouse floor at Food Bank of the Rockies in Aurora, checking product quality and expiration dates, pulling what canβt be distributed, and repacking bulk goods into family-sized portions. The facility serves as a major distribution hub, and whatβs processed here reaches partner agencies across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region.
The work is physically active throughout: standing, lifting, carting product, and maintaining the sorting lineβs pace. Closed-toe shoes are required; warehouse policy prohibits sandals and open-toed footwear. Shift: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Up to 20 volunteers per afternoon shift. Group registration is available through VolunteerHub. All sign-ups must be completed in advance β no walk-ins. Minimum age 10; volunteers under 16 must have a supervising adult for the full shift.
