Work the food sorting line at Food Bank of the Rockies in Aurora from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Lifting, standing, repacking at distribution scale. Ages 10+.
Why we picked this
Tuesday afternoon — the warehouse runs through the full week and afternoon volunteers keep the sorting pipeline moving. Three hours, clear physical output, real volume of food processed.
At this Tuesday afternoon shift, volunteers join the sorting floor at Food Bank of the Rockies in Aurora, processing food donations — checking for expired or damaged product, consolidating inventory by category, and repacking bulk goods into portions suitable for distribution to partner agencies throughout Colorado.
The shift is physically active from start to finish: standing, lifting boxes, pushing loaded carts, and maintaining pace on the sorting line. Closed-toe shoes are required; no sandals or open-toed footwear in the warehouse. Afternoon shift hours are 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Up to 20 volunteers per afternoon shift. Group registration is supported through VolunteerHub. All sign-ups must be completed in advance — walk-ins not accepted. Minimum age 10; volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
