Afternoon warehouse shift at Food Bank of the Rockies
Sort donated food and repack bulk goods at the Aurora warehouse from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. On-your-feet physical work at regional scale. Ages 10+.
Why we picked this
Monday afternoon in the warehouse kicks off the week's distribution push β the volume processed in this afternoon shift feeds directly into what partner agencies receive later in the week.
Volunteers working this Monday afternoon shift sort food donations on the warehouse floor at Food Bank of the Rockies in Aurora β checking quality and dates, pulling unusable product, and repacking bulk goods into family-sized quantities. Whatβs processed here supports partner agencies distributing food to families across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region.
The work is physically active throughout: standing, lifting, pushing carts, and working the sorting line for three hours. Closed-toe shoes are required in the warehouse. No sandals or open-toed footwear permitted. Shift runs 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Up to 20 volunteers per afternoon shift, with group registration available through VolunteerHub. Walk-ins are not accepted β all volunteers must register in advance. Minimum age is 10; anyone under 16 must have a supervising adult present throughout the shift.
