Work the food sorting line at Food Bank of the Rockies in Aurora, 1:00–4:00 PM. Physical, on-your-feet warehouse work. Groups up to 20. Ages 10+.
Why we picked this
Wednesday afternoon in the warehouse — three hours of sorting and repacking food at a facility that distributes across the whole state. The afternoon slot fits schedules that don't allow for early starts.
This Wednesday afternoon shift puts volunteers on the warehouse floor at Food Bank of the Rockies in Aurora, working through food donations — checking quality and expiration dates, consolidating product, and repacking bulk goods into family-sized quantities for distribution to partner agencies across Colorado.
Plan on sustained physical effort: standing for three hours, lifting boxes, maneuvering carts, and maintaining pace on the sorting line. Closed-toe shoes are required; no sandals or open-toed footwear in the warehouse. Afternoon shift hours are 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Up to 20 volunteers can join afternoon shifts. Groups can register together through VolunteerHub. All sign-ups are required in advance — walk-ins are not accepted. Volunteers must be 10 or older; anyone under 16 needs a supervising adult present throughout the shift.
