Afternoon warehouse shift at Food Bank of the Rockies
Sort donated food and repack bulk goods at the Aurora warehouse from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Physical work at regional distribution scale. Ages 10+.
Why we picked this
The afternoon shift runs 1 to 4 PM — same warehouse volume as mornings, different clock. If your schedule opens up after lunch, this is three hours of direct food distribution work.
Volunteers at this Monday afternoon shift work on the sorting floor at Food Bank of the Rockies in Aurora, processing donated food by checking dates, inspecting product quality, pulling unusable items, and repacking bulk goods into family-appropriate quantities. This facility serves as a regional distribution hub, and the food sorted here reaches partner agencies throughout Colorado and neighboring Rocky Mountain states.
The work is physical and active for the full three hours: standing, lifting boxes, pushing loaded carts, and working the sorting line alongside other volunteers. Closed-toe shoes are required; no sandals or open-toed footwear allowed in the warehouse. The afternoon shift runs 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Up to 20 volunteers may join afternoon shifts, and group registration is supported. All sign-ups must be completed in advance through VolunteerHub — no walk-ins. Minimum age is 10; anyone under 16 must have a supervising adult for the duration of the shift.
