Volunteer at Zero Waste Kitchen Practices workshop at Posner Center
Help run DUG's Zero Waste Kitchen workshop — participants learn to reduce food waste through smart storage, vegetable scrap cooking, composting, and seasonal meal planning.
Why we picked this
Help run a practical zero waste kitchen workshop — participants learn to use the whole vegetable, store food properly, and reduce what ends up in the trash. A good November session as people think about the holiday kitchen.
DUG’s Zero Waste Kitchen Practices workshop brings the sustainability principles of community gardening into the home kitchen. Participants learn how to reduce food waste through better storage, using vegetable scraps creatively, understanding what can be composted versus what can be cooked, and planning seasonal meals that minimize waste.
Volunteers help with setup, support participants during activities, and assist the DUG educator running the workshop. The session runs from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on a Saturday morning in mid-November.
Posner Center is DUG’s main workshop venue in Denver. The zero waste session closes the loop on a year’s worth of growing, preserving, and preparing food — a practical toolkit for taking the values of community gardening into everyday kitchen life.
