Spring cleanup and new plot building at Whittier Garden
Prep beds and build new growing plots at Whittier Community Garden in Midtown Denver. Morning workday, Saturday April 18, 10 AM–noon. All ages, no experience needed.
Why we picked this
Two hours on a Saturday morning getting Whittier Garden ready for spring planting — clearing beds and building new plots so gardeners can start the season.
Whittier Garden’s spring cleanup workday focuses on preparing the space for the 2026 growing season: clearing dormant beds and building new growing plots for the community gardeners who will use them all summer. DUG staff leads the work.
The shift runs Saturday morning, April 18, from 10 AM to noon. All ages welcome. Wear clothes you can work in, and bring gloves if you have them. No experience needed. This is part of DUG’s Midtown Mung Beans program.
Community garden opening workdays are how the growing season starts — the beds don’t prep themselves. Showing up for two hours on a Saturday directly enables the planting that happens the following week.
