Monthly stewardship at Wheat Ridge Food Forest
Weed, water, and mulch at a thriving community food forest on Ammons St. in Wheat Ridge. First Wednesday of each month, 5–7pm. All ages, tools provided.
Why we picked this
A weeknight hour of weeding and watering at a food forest that's already producing. Meet at the covered pavilion, then get your hands in the soil. Mulching happens in May and October.
The Wheat Ridge Food Forest on Ammons St. is an established community food forest managed through Denver Urban Gardens. Monthly volunteer days happen on the first Wednesday of each month from 5–7pm and focus on routine stewardship: weeding, watering, and seasonal mulching. May and October are the main mulching months.
Meet at the covered pavilion at the start of the event and the team will direct you from there. Tools are provided. The two-hour evening format is designed to fit around work schedules — you can come for the whole time or part of it.
Upcoming dates through the season: June 3, July 1, August 5, September 2, October 7. Register for individual sessions through the DUG volunteer portal.
