Why we picked this
First Wednesday of July at Wheat Ridge Food Forest — weeding, watering, and seasonal upkeep at an established community food forest just west of Denver. Evening shift, so it works after work.
The Wheat Ridge Food Forest runs a monthly volunteer workday on the first Wednesday of each month, 5:00–7:00 PM. Volunteers perform routine stewardship: weeding around established plantings, watering, and seasonal maintenance work. Spring and fall shifts often include mulching.
Meet at the covered pavilion at 4226 Ammons St in Wheat Ridge, then head to the food forest just east of the pavilion. Bring work gloves, water, and sunscreen; tools and equipment are provided. Family-friendly, all ages welcome.
The food forest is part of DUG’s network and sits just west of Denver — easy to reach from most parts of the metro.
