Why we picked this
Another shot at Sunshine Community Garden's end-of-summer cleanup — same two hours of weeding and plot upkeep, for anyone who missed the Aug 16 date.
Sunshine Community Garden runs this cleanup workday again at the end of August: pulling weeds, removing old gravel and weed fabric, clearing unused plots, and collecting loose signage and tools around the site. Two hours of visible, hands-on progress.
Bring gloves if you have them and a water bottle — snacks are recommended since food isn’t provided. Wear sun protection and clothes suited to getting dirty. Bathrooms are available on site. DUG’s Southwest Sugar Snap Peas program staff run the session, so first-timers are welcome.
The garden is at 5150 Allison St in Arvada, tucked between the WIC building and the school building. Look for the chalkboard sign and the DUG gate marker on the fence, park in front, and follow the pathway around to the entrance.
