Volunteer at DUG's Spring Plant Sale — Saturday shift
Help sell organic seedlings, compost, and fruit trees at City Park Greenhouse. Roles include cashier, loading, welcome crew, and kids corner. All ages welcome.
Why we picked this
The Saturday plant sale shift tends to be the busiest day — more families, more seedlings moving, more action. Pick a role and spend the morning outdoors at City Park Greenhouse.
Denver Urban Gardens holds its annual spring plant sale at the City Park Greenhouse, offering organic vegetable and herb seedlings, hanging baskets, fruit trees, straw, and Denver’s own A1 EcoGro compost. Volunteers make it happen — roles include cashier, welcome crew, compost and straw handling, plant care, loading assistance, and the kids corner.
Saturday is typically the highest-traffic day of the sale. No gardening expertise required — staff will orient you to your role at the start of the shift. Comfortable outdoor clothing and closed-toe shoes are recommended; the greenhouse and surrounding area can be muddy.
City Park Greenhouse is at 2500 E 23rd Ave in Denver’s City Park neighborhood. Street parking and the 40 bus line are nearby. Register through the DUG volunteer portal.
