Volunteer at Seed Saving workshop at Posner Center
Help DUG educators run a hands-on seed saving workshop at Posner Center — participants learn to harvest, clean, dry, and store seeds from garden vegetables and flowers.
Why we picked this
Assist at a seed saving workshop — participants work with actual seeds from the garden, learning to clean and store them for next year's planting. Saturday afternoon, no experience needed.
Seed saving closes the garden’s loop — taking seeds from this year’s harvest back into the soil next spring. DUG’s Seed Saving workshop at Posner Center teaches participants to identify seeds at the right stage, harvest them properly, clean and dry them, and store them so they remain viable for future planting.
Volunteers help with setup, work alongside participants as they process seeds, and support the DUG educator leading the class. The session runs from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on a Saturday afternoon.
Posner Center is DUG’s main workshop venue in Denver. The seed saving workshop is part of a broader organic growing curriculum that runs throughout the season, connecting participants to the full cycle of community garden practice.
