Why we picked this

Help participants press cider and make fruit leather from fall apples — hands-on preservation with a seasonal Colorado focus. DUG's food preservation series at its most autumnal.

October is apple season in Colorado, and DUG’s Preserving Apples workshop at Posner Center takes full advantage of it. Participants learn multiple preservation methods for apples: pressing cider, making fruit leather, and other techniques for keeping the fall harvest going through winter.

Volunteers help set up the workspace, assist participants during the hands-on activities, and support the DUG educator running the class. The session runs from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on a Thursday evening.

Posner Center is DUG’s main workshop venue in Denver. The apple preservation session sits within the broader fall food preservation series, which includes pickling, canning, fermenting, and other techniques for turning the end-of-season garden harvest into food that lasts.
