Why we picked this

Help facilitate a watercolor and flower-sketching session in the garden at Ellis South — nature journaling as a therapeutic practice, outdoors in a DUG community garden.

Denver Urban Gardens’ therapeutic gardening workshops use outdoor settings to support wellbeing, and the Nature Journaling series is one of the more hands-on offerings. This July session at Ellis South Community Garden focuses on flowers and color mixing — participants sketch what they observe in the garden and experiment with watercolor techniques.

Volunteers assist the DUG facilitator in setting up materials, supporting participants, and maintaining the calm and focused atmosphere the workshop is designed around. The session runs from 9:00 AM to approximately 11:00 AM.

Ellis South Community Garden is at 1651 S Dahlia St in the Virginia Village neighborhood of Denver, near the intersection of Dahlia and Florida Ave. Street parking is available along Dahlia.
