Why we picked this

An evening walk along Cherry Creek identifying the medicinal plants native to Colorado — DUG educators point out what's growing along the creek path and explain how it's been used.

Colorado’s Rocky Mountain region is home to a rich array of medicinal native plants, many of which can be found along Denver’s urban creek corridors. This DUG-led walk covers identification and traditional uses of the plants that grow along Cherry Creek — a guided introduction to the native flora that’s available in the city’s open spaces.

The session runs as an evening walk (6:00 PM) on July 21, starting at S Holly St and N Cherry Creek Dr. Part of DUG’s Urban Herbalism series. Open to all experience levels; no prior plant knowledge needed.

Cherry Creek’s trail corridor passes through multiple ecological zones within Denver, making it a practical classroom for regional plant identification.
