Denver Urban Gardens is expanding the tree canopy at Martinez Park Food Forest on Wednesday morning, April 29. Fifteen volunteer spots are available for the planting session. You’ll dig and plant trees that will eventually produce fruit or provide structure to the food forest’s multi-layered planting design.

Shift runs 9 AM to noon at Martinez Park in southwest Denver. Wear clothes and shoes you’re comfortable getting muddy, and bring work gloves. DUG provides tools and direction; no experience needed. This is part of DUG’s Southern Spicy Peppers program.

Martinez Park Food Forest is a producing urban food forest managed by DUG — a resource for the neighborhood that grows incrementally with each tree planting workday.
