Opening workday at KCAA Community Garden — weekend morning
Morning workday to open KCAA Community Garden for the growing season. Weed, clear paths, and prep planting beds. Saturday April 18, 9 AM–noon. Ages 10+.
Why we picked this
A Saturday morning getting a community garden ready for the season — three hours of weeding and path clearing with a clear start and end point. Water and snacks provided.
The Saturday morning session at KCAA Community Garden is a continuation of the opening workday — the second chance to get the garden prepped for spring planting. Tasks are the same as the weeknight session: weeding, clearing pathways, and preparing beds. 15 volunteer spots are available, and the work runs from 9 AM to noon. Water and snacks are provided.
Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, bring gloves if you have them, and use sturdy shoes. Children are welcome (ages 10+). The garden is at the corner of S Patton Ct and W Iliff Ave in Harvey Park South; street parking is nearby. The event is canceled in bad weather.
KCAA is a Denver Urban Gardens community plot — a shared growing space where neighbors tend individual beds in a common area. Weekend opening workdays are a direct way to ensure the whole community has a functional space to use all season.
