Volunteer at Harvesting and Processing Medicinal Herbs workshop at Posner Center
Help run a hands-on workshop on harvesting and drying medicinal herbs at Posner Center — participants learn to gather, process, and store herbs for home use.
Why we picked this
Assist at a workshop where participants learn to harvest and dry medicinal herbs — practical hands-on skills for using what grows in a garden. Part of DUG's urban herbalism series.
DUG’s urban herbalism series builds practical plant skills across the growing season, and the Harvesting and Processing Medicinal Herbs workshop is a natural follow-on to the summer plant walks. Participants learn when and how to harvest herbs for medicinal use, how to dry and store them properly, and what to do with them once they’re processed.
Volunteers assist with setup, help participants during hands-on activities, and support the DUG educator leading the class. The session runs from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on a Tuesday evening in mid-August.
Posner Center is DUG’s main workshop venue in Denver. The urban herbalism series — including plant walks, tincture-making, and this harvesting session — gives participants a progressive set of skills for working with medicinal plants grown in Denver’s community gardens.
