Gather 'Round event support and cleanup
Support DUG's fall fundraising gala at a downtown Denver venue — greet guests, help vendors, and break down after an evening celebrating urban gardens.
Why we picked this
A behind-the-scenes shift at DUG's fall gala — welcome guests, keep activity stations running, and help break it all down at the end of the night.
Denver Urban Gardens’ “Gather ‘Round” event brings together supporters, gardeners, and neighbors for an evening celebrating the network’s 180+ community gardens across the city. Volunteers help make the night run smoothly, working guest check-in, activity stations, and vendor support before helping restock supplies and tidy up as the evening winds down.
Tasks are assigned the day of based on what’s needed most, so plan on being flexible — you might spend part of the shift welcoming guests and part of it hauling tables. The role involves a fair amount of standing and light lifting, and the dress code is all-black with comfortable shoes. Volunteers arriving by 4:30 PM get a meal before the doors open.
Note that this shift is for volunteers 21 and older, the venue isn’t wheelchair accessible, and it’s not a family event. Reach out to site supervisor Marisa Loury at marisa@dug.org with questions — nine spots were still open as of this listing.
