Volunteer at Transitioning Your Garden Into Fall workshop at Posner Center
Help run a Saturday morning workshop on preparing your garden for fall — participants learn what to plant, what to pull, and how to set up beds for the cold months.
Why we picked this
Assist at a Saturday morning workshop on fall garden prep — participants learn what to plant for fall harvest, how to amend soil, and how to winterize beds. Practical for any Denver community gardener.
The Transitioning Your Garden Into Fall workshop is timed for early September, when Denver gardeners need to start thinking about what happens to their beds before first frost. Participants learn what cool-season crops to plant now, how to amend soil heading into fall, how to save seeds from the season’s plants, and how to properly close down beds that are finishing.
Volunteers help with setup, support participants with questions during the session, and assist the DUG educator. The workshop runs from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on a Saturday morning.
Posner Center is DUG’s main indoor workshop space in Denver. This session is especially relevant for community gardeners in DUG’s network who want to extend their productive season into fall and prepare their plots for the following spring.
