Volunteers help create a new pathway through the food forest at Doull Elementary School in southwest Denver, plus spread wood mulch and do sheet-mulching. Sheet-mulching suppresses weeds and builds soil health over time β itβs practical ecological work with lasting results.
Seven volunteer spots available. Ages 13 and up. Closed-toe shoes, work clothes, layers, and a reusable water bottle are recommended. Gloves provided. Note: this site is not wheelchair accessible.
The food forest is at Doull Elementary, 2520 S Utica St in Denverβs Harvey Park neighborhood. Register through the DUG volunteer portal.
