Why we picked this

A Saturday morning composting class at Gove Community Garden — fall timing means participants can build a pile from the season's end-of-garden material. Same curriculum as the June sessions, different season.

DUG’s Learn to Compost workshop returns to Gove Community Garden in late September, right when gardens are winding down and there’s plenty of organic material to work with. Participants learn the basics: the difference between browns and greens, how to layer materials, when and how to turn a pile, how to tell when compost is ready, and how to troubleshoot common problems.

The workshop runs from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Gove Community Garden in east Denver’s Montbello corridor. Gove Community Garden is one of DUG’s established sites and a regular host for the composting workshop series.

No prior composting experience needed. This is a volunteer-supported DUG workshop — arrive ready to learn and help the educator set up and run activities.
