Free guided bird walk along the South Platte River at C-470 Trailhead. Co-led by Denver Audubon and Denver Field Ornithologists. All skill levels welcome. May 22, 8–11 AM.
Why we picked this
Late May along the South Platte catches the tail end of spring migration — warblers, flycatchers, and shorebirds active along the river. Three hours, free, all skill levels.
Denver Audubon and Denver Field Ornithologists co-lead a three-hour bird walk at South Platte Park’s south trailhead near C-470. Late May is the tail end of spring migration, meaning you may encounter both resident species and migrants still moving through the riparian corridor.
The walk is free and accessible to beginning birders. Flat trails, three hours, all skill levels. Bring binoculars if you have them. The trailhead is at the C-470 and South Platte River intersection in Littleton.
Register through the Denver Audubon event calendar.
