Denver Audubon leads a guided morning walk at Reynolds Park in the foothills near Conifer. Late May is prime breeding season for mountain bird species — Steller’s jays, mountain bluebirds, broad-tailed hummingbirds, and various woodpeckers are all active and visible. An early 7am start gets you into the foothills during the most productive bird hours.
The walk runs about three hours along trails at Reynolds Park. All skill levels are welcome. A $10 donation to support Denver Audubon programs is suggested but not required.
The trailhead is at 1346 S Foxton Rd in Conifer, approximately 45 minutes from central Denver. Register through the Audubon event calendar.
