Why we picked this

No walking required — this is a 'bird sit,' not a bird walk, built around the idea that mobility shouldn't be the deciding factor in who gets to bird.

This free session at Kingery Nature Center is part of Birdability Week, a national effort to make birding more accessible to people with mobility issues, chronic illness, and other disabilities. Instead of a moving walk, the group sets up at a seating area near productive habitat and watches from there.

Feeder activity and the wetland edge near the nature center tend to bring birds within view without requiring anyone to cover ground. A Denver Audubon guide is on hand to help spot and identify what shows up.

Free and open to all ages and abilities. The session runs 8 to 9:30 AM. Seating is provided; bring binoculars if you have them. Kingery Nature Center is at 11280 Waterton Rd. in Littleton.
